i) Another way of saving money if working on a tight budget, is to make your own decorations for the reception. It is very simple to make your own wedding table decorations, but also to decorate your evening venue (this may well be the same as where you have your meal.) All you need is a little imagination and possibly some willing volunteers!

i) Some of the main wedding reception venues are: hotels and country clubs, social clubs, pubs, restaurants, or even your own (or your parents’) home. This can be indoors or outside in a marquee.

i) You must check that the church is registered for “the solemnisation of marriage.” Most Anglican churches are but there are a few other, non-conformist churches that are not. In this case, a Registrar would need to be present. It is important to arrange a meeting with the leader of the church if you are unsure of what their requirement is. 

Main thing to remember is that this is your wedding and your day. Be prepared to offend somebody along the way! It is hard to please everybody and believe me, everybody will have something to say about where you are having your big day, who you are having as your bridesmaids, what colour the dresses are going to be, what food you are going to have- buffet, sit-down meal.… The list goes on and on! Try and remain positive and calm. You are all working towards the same ultimate goal- the best wedding day for YOU and YOUR PARTNER.
